The Montblanc Homage to Nicolas Rieussec II chronograph faithfully replicates the details of Nicolas Rieussec's first chronograph with inking hands from 1825, but relies on innovative materials and technology to transport the historical device into our contemporary age. For the first time in a Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec timepiece, elapsed time is shown by two rotating hands and not by rotating discs. A new combination of materials is used on the dial which has been exclusively developed by Montblanc: Super-LumiNova pigments, which are invisible in the daytime, are inlaid all around the hour ring and the chronograph counters made of hybrid ceramic. As darkness falls, these Roman figures and numerals become visible. The hours and minutes hands, which are inlaid with Super-LumiNova, allow clear legibility of the exact time during the day and at night. The movement of the Montblanc Homage to Nicolas Rieussec chronograph is produced in-house in the Montblanc Manufacture and the entire watch is certified with the Montblanc laboratory test 500 quality certificate.
