The Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Ludwig II Limited Edition 4810 Fountain Pen (Model 117843) is a masterful tribute to King Ludwig II of Bavaria (1845–1886). Historically remembered as the "Fairy Tale King," Ludwig II famously embodied his penchant for extravagant architecture by constructing three legendary masterpieces: Linderhof, Herrenchiemsee, and Neuschwanstein—a breathtaking, fairy-tale interpretation of a medieval fortress.
This luxury writing instrument honors his legacy by immortalizing his royal emblem, the swan, which he adopted from the medieval legend of Lohengrin. The cap features translucent white lacquer layered over an intricate guilloché pattern, mimicking the soaring stone walls of Neuschwanstein Castle. The barrel contrasts in deep blue translucent lacquer, representing the alpine waters of the Bavarian lakes. Sculpted into the elegant silhouette of a swan, the champagne gold-coated clip directly reflects the recurring motif found throughout his royal estates. Finally, the hand-crafted 18k solid gold nib features a custom engraving of Neuschwanstein, cementing the pen as a wearable piece of architectural history.
